Episode 5: Three Things You Need for a Website that Converts – How My Client Sold Over $1,000,000 in Products on Her Website

3 Things that Helped My Client Sell Over $1,000,000 in Products on Her Website

Tip #1 for a website that converts: a Clean and clear design

The first thing that we did with my client’s website is that we made it very clean and simple. There’s not a whole lot of extra fluff on her website and there is a lot of white space.

My design style for my clients is “less is more.” I want to showcase your services and products, and I want that to be the focus without a ton of other design elements going on.

When people come to your website, they shouldn’t feel overwhelmed with a ton of information. They need to know exactly what to do and where to go in as little time as possible.

Tip #2 for a website that converts: Simple, straight-forward messaging

The second thing that has helped my client sell so many of her products is that her website speaks very, very clearly to her ideal customers.

This client of mine is a breast milk jewelry artisan -she turns breast milk into a powder, mixes it with resin, and turns it into a beautiful keepsake piece of jewelry. Her work is phenomenal, and she also speaks very clearly to the person who would want to buy that jewelry.

Some people might be weirded out by breastmilk jewelry, but the moms who have nursed their babies for for years will get it, and that’s exactly who she speaks to.

All of the written copy on her website is talking directly to the mama who is ending her breastfeeding journey, who is so sad that it’s over and just really wants something to help her remember all of the work and effort she put into nourishing her baby. Again, my client’s website speaks very, very powerfully to that mama.

What product or service do you offer? You want to make sure that your website is speaking very powerfully to your ideal customer and how your product or service can help them helping them preserve a memory, grow their business, or enhance their life in some way.

Tip #3 for a website that converts: Market your website!

The third thing that helped my client sell over a million dollars in products on her website is that she is phenomenal at marketing. She’s really good at sending her ideal customers to her website, and she’s posting on social media consistently.

She’s been doing this for 3 years since we created her site, and she is the consistency queen.

If you’re having a hard time getting people to purchase your products or services from your website, you need to be thinking about how you’re actually getting them to go visit your site.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I talking about on my social media?
  • Am I being consistent with reminding people what I have to offer?
  • Am I consistently telling them to go to my website for something that’s going to help them?
