Reason #1 to Hire a Website Designer for Your Business Website: They Understand UX Design

A good website designer is familiar with designing what’s known as a UX website – a website focused on the user experience.

A really good website designer knows the best way to get your potential client or customer from first landing on your website to trusted buyer in the shortest amount of time. They’re going to make that process really seamless for your website visitors.

If you’re not familiar with designing a UX website, you might be sending your website visitors all over the place trying to figure out how to even work with you.
When things aren’t clear and simple to navigate, they’re more likely to leave without ever purchasing anything.

Reason #2 to Hire a Website Designer: It Saves You Time

The second reason why hiring a website designer for your website is a good idea is that a good website designer will help you bring your vision to life in a lot less time than you’ll be able to.

A website designer will know how to do all of the custom things that you need your business website to do, and even if they don’t know how to do one specific thing that you need, they know where to go to learn how.

As a website designer, I’ve noticed that a lot of the websites I build need most of the same things, but there are usually one or two things that my clients need custom for their business. Whether it’s setting up a membership, adding custom options to their products, or something else specific to their business structure, these are things that I didn’t necessarily know how to do before they hired me, but I knew where to go to figure it out.

When you’re DIYing your own website, you’ll waste so much time just trying to figure all of the little things out. You’re also probably only going to do it once and then probably never do it again, which makes it a waste of your time to learn that skill. However, if a website designer takes the time to figure it out for you, they’re able to do it for any future projects, so it’s not a waste of time for them.

Reason #3 to Hire a Website Designer for Your Business Website: They Have an Outside Perspective

The third reason why hiring a website designer for your business website is a good idea is that the website designer is not in the weeds of your business, which allows them to give an outside perspective.

When you’re figuring out what written content should actually go in your website, a good website designer will give you feedback on the content you want in your site. They’ll tell you, “This is too much. We need to narrow this down, summarize it into bullet points so people will actually read it.” A good website designer will tell you how to lay everything out with the best flow. They’ll also support you in getting the actual written content done.

One big misconception that I see from a lot of people is that they think that website designers do all of the written content. This is not often the case.

The people who usually do written content on a website, are called a copywriters. Copywriters are really good at writing the written content for anything in your business. Most website designers are not copywriters, but a really good website designer knows how to tweak the written content you already have and make it really effective for a website. So while they may not write your website content from scratch, a good website designer can tweak what you give them to make it fit really well in your website and make sure it’s going to give the right message to your website visitors. They’ll have that outside perspective and they’ll be willing to tell you what’s going to work and what’s not.

Reason #4 to Hire a Website Designer: They Understand SEO Strategies

A good website designer is familiar with SEO strategies and important settings that need to be set up in order for your SEO to actually work for you and help build your organic traffic.

If you’re not familiar with SEO, it stands for search engine optimization. Basically, when somebody types a phrase into Google, a whole bunch of results are going to come up around that key phrase, and you want your website to be one of those first websites that comes up for the key phrases surrounding your business.

This not only happens when you include those key phrases in your written content, but it also happens by making sure all of the SEO settings on the back end of your website are in place. These settings are what will actually allow sites like Google to go and crawl your site and figure out what terms you’re trying to rank for.

A good website designer will make sure that your site is optimized so that when Google comes and crawls your site, they know exactly what terms you’re trying to rank for. This is very helpful if you’re really wanting to build your organic traffic. You need to make sure your SEO settings are on point and a really good website designer is going to help you do that.
