Episode 30: What Should You Include On Your About Page for Your Business Website?
In this episode of the Business Website Blueprint podcast, I’m sharing what you should include on your website about page.
In this episode of the Business Website Blueprint Podcast, I’m going to walk you through four different reasons why you might consider adding a blog to your business website.
Quick Disclosure: This blog post contains affiliate links, which means when you click the link to purchase something on this page, it won’t cost you more but I may receive a commission for sharing it with you. Which is great, because I was going to share it with you anyway!
A blog allows you to teach on whatever product or service that you offer. This way people can understand what you do better, and they might even be able to DIY some of it themselves based on your blog. When they learn from you, they’re more likely to trust you because they’ve already learned something from you for free. This means they’re more likely to invest in your services because they know that they’re going to get a return on their investment when they already got a return on what you gave them for free in your blog.
Let’s look at an example of how this works – let’s say someone is struggling with their social media and you’ve got blog posts breaking down how to effectively create a social media content calendar that they’ll stick to. That website visitor is going to read your blog post and think, “Oh my gosh, I got so much from this!”
Then, when they’re ready to outsource their social media and no longer do it themselves, who do you think they’re going to come to? Probably you, because you helped them in the past for free.
Your blog also helps to promote your product or service. Every time you have a blog post, it should be redirecting readers at the end to your service or product. It should showcase how your product or service will help to solve whatever problem the reader is facing.
If you’re not familiar with SEO, it stands for Search Engine Optimization. Basically, when someone types in a couple keywords on Google and they hit search, a whole bunch of websites will come up based on those keywords.
This means that you want to make sure you’re using keywords that people are actually searching in regards to what you offer in your business.

A blog is a great way to boost your SEO because in the blog you’re going to be consistently using those keywords, which will help you to start ranking higher in search results for those keywords.
