Episode 30: What Should You Include On Your About Page for Your Business Website?
In this episode of the Business Website Blueprint podcast, I’m sharing what you should include on your website about page.
I think every business owner wants to sell more of their products or services. That’s why, in this episode of the Business Website Blueprint Podcast, I’m going to share with you five tips to help you sell more from your business website.

Back in episode 20, I talked about the “less is more” approach to your business website. Basically, if your website is overcrowded and overwhelming, it’s going to send visitors away.
You want to make sure that your website is clean, simple, and really easy for people to navigate through. This way, your website visitors know exactly what you offer, how you can help them, and they are more likely to say yes and hire you or purchase your products if they are not confused.
The second tip to help you sell more products or services from your website is to speak directly to your ideal customers and clients and talk to the struggles that they’re facing.
You want to make sure you’re talking about how your product or services will help your website visitors overcome the problems they’re facing.
Instead of saying, “This is my product, this is what it is, this is what it does”, you want to make sure you’re showcasing how it’s going to help them get to where they want to be.
The third tip to help you sell more products or services on your business website is to have eye catching photos. This applies more to product based businesses, but it also applies to service based business as well.
If you’re a product-based business, you want to have really clean, simple photos of your products. Your product should be featured up front, with simple colors and great lighting.
If you’re a service-based business, this can still be a big factor in helping you sell your services. If you have photos that go along with the content of your site, it helps with the flow of your website. Again, if your website is clean and simple, people are more likely to purchase from you because they’re not going to get overwhelmed.
You should have multiple calls to action on your website, which direct people where to go next. If someone is visiting your website and they only see a button one time to book a call with you, they may miss it. If they miss that one time, then they either have to scroll all the way back to try to find where that button was, or they’re just not going to book a call with you, even though they may have wanted to.
You want to have your call to action multiple times throughout your site. You can have it in 3-4 different sections on your homepage, your menu bar, etc. This way, people know exactly what you want them to do. There shouldn’t be any confusion on what you’re asking them to do when they come to your site.
If you want people to know that your website exists, you have to market it. You can’t just have a website and expect the people to come because it’s not going to happen.
Some simple ways to market your business are by:
