5 Essential Pages for a Website that Converts

Designing a website that converts doesn’t have to be complicated. Unfortunately, a vast majority of websites out there are so focused on the design or cramming every unimportant detail into one page, that they quickly confuse and lose their potential clients. Today, I’m going to share with you the 5 essential website pages that will help you get more conversions.

5 Essential Website Pages

Home Page

One of the most essential website pages is your home page. This is the first impression your audience has with your website and your business. You have about 8 seconds to grab their attention, and a well-designed home page increases the likelihood of visitors sticking around.

So, what do you need to do to ensure you have an engaging homepage?

1. Clearly state what you do and who you do it for

2. Use on brand images that captivate and build interest

3. Use minimal yet engaging copy to keep visitors intrigued

4. Utilize strong call-to-action buttons

5. Clear navigation throughout

About Page

Your about page is another key page on your website, but don’t think an about page should include every little detail about you and your business. The about page is actually a sales page where you’re selling to who you serve and addressing how you can help them. You want most of this page to address THEIR needs. The about page should be about how you can help your ideal clients. You should frame your client as the hero and your offerings/services as the guide. Think about what it is that your client wants to achieve by working with you and write your about page copy around that.

Of course, you can also include some personal information so that your ideal clients get to know you as a person, but don’t make this the first thing they see.

Contact Page

Another essential website page is the contact page. Keep this page short and sweet, but be sure to make it clear how your audience can get in touch with you. While it may be tempting to capture as many details as you can with a long form, I recommend keeping it short and sweet, capturing only key information. Long contact forms can put people off and could turn away potential clients.

A great suggestion is to integrate your form with your preferred Client Relationship Management tool. I prefer Dubsado, which is an amazing all-in-one tool to send out contracts, invoices, and organize your communication with clients!

Also, you want to make sure you include your email address and maybe even your phone number. If you have a physical location, share the physical street address as well. If a potential client has a question, that means they have an interest in your business. You want to make the process of reaching out to you as easy as possible.

Blog Page

To blog or not to blog? That is the question. Having a blog shows your potential client:

Another reason why blogs are so important is that it helps with your Google ranking. The more you blog and share on social media, the more website traffic you’ll receive. Readers will share your amazing content and keep coming back for more. This is where you build the Know, Like and Trust factor that everyone talks about. Eventually, these casual readers will become raving fans and future clients.

Products or Services Page

Of course, your website visitors want to know what products or services you offer. This is why the fifth and final of the essential website pages is your products or services page. If you are a service provider, you can list your packages, prices, and details of your service. If you sell products, you can display your products and make it easy to buy.

Remember, your ideal clients want to know more about the transformation they get by working with you than the offer itself. This page is a great place to showcase testimonials from previous clients and the transformation your products/services provided for them.
